CKR Law is pleased to announce that the CKR Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group is growing this month with the addition of three new attorneys to our Wilmington, Delaware office.
Joining our current New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Seattle bankruptcy attorneys are:
Jeffrey Carbino - Jeff has been a bankruptcy attorney for over 25 years, focusing on financing and restructuring, litigation, and transactional work. Jeff represents national bank clients, landlords and other interested parties in Chapter 7 and 11 national bankruptcy cases in the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of Delaware involving debtors in the natural gas, gas station, manufacturing, paper, pharmaceutical, real estate and other industries. Additionally, Jeff represents individuals, banks and estates before the Courts of Common Pleas and Family Court in Philadelphia county and the surrounding counties, the Commerce Court of the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia and the Landlord-Tenant Court in Philadelphia.
Jeff received his juris doctorate cum laude from Widener University School of Law. At the beginning of his career, Jeff clerked for Bankruptcy Judge Cook in Tennessee and Bankruptcy Judge Raslavich in Pennsylvania. Before founding his own law firm, he was a partner at Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C.
Jeff is admitted to the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Delaware American Bankruptcy Inn of Court, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference and a Board Member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project.
William (Bill) R. Firth, III - Bill has over 15 years of restructuring experience, including legal work at Pepper Hamilton, LLP, Gibbons P.C., Zarwin Baum, P.C. and Martin Law Firm, LLC. Bill was also the co-founder of a boutique consulting firm that provided restructuring and capital acquisition advisory services.
Bill has extensive experience in commercial litigation matters in Delaware Chancery, Superior and District Courts, as well as commercial bankruptcy litigation matters in Delaware Bankruptcy Court. He also serves as outside general counsel for companies in commercial litigation matters and advises on corporate transactional and regulatory compliance issues.
Bill has a bachelor of arts from Villanova University, a masters of public administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a juris doctorate from Villanova University School of Law. Bill is admitted to the state and federal courts in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Marc J. Phillips - Marc has over a decade of experience representing a broad variety of clients in large and complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 corporate bankruptcy proceedings, including debtors, unsecured creditors, lenders, landlords, equipment lessors, trade creditors, directors and officers, intellectual property licensors and licensees, insurance carriers, municipal taxing authorities, utilities, asset purchasers, bondholders, noteholders, trustees and committees. Marc also represents secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy preference and fraudulent transfer litigation. In addition, his practice includes the representation of companies in civil litigation and complex commercial litigation.
Marc is a certified mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and listed on the Court’s Register of Mediators and Arbitrators. Marc graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1994. He then played professional baseball with the Kansas City Royals for several years. After his baseball career was over, Marc attended Widener University School of Law where he earned his juris doctorate in 2003.
Marc is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Delaware and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the Delaware Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Delaware American Bankruptcy Inn of Court and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
