Almas grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and lived in Ottawa, Canada, before making the move to New York. She joined the Canadian Law Group at the Firm, after completing her J.D. at the University of Ottawa, in Canada.
Almas works in the areas of cross-border trade and immigration as well as International Human Rights. She understands the intricacies of cross-border movement through her own experiences and uses her personal knowledge, as well as her intimate understanding of Canadian Law, to support the Canadian Law Group.
Almas has previously worked with the Department of Justice Canada, and with Human Rights organizations such as the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund, and the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program.
