Ross Meador is a partner with the firm and an international business and technology attorney with broad experience representing American, Asian, and European companies in both domestic and cross-border business operations.

Mr. Meador's practice currently focuses on business expansion and general company counseling, including financing and business transactions, strategic relationships, and the protection and licensing of intellectual property, frequently for early-stage companies and their investors.

Mr. Meador spent his early career with several of the nation's largest and most prestigious law firms. He was a Partner at Preston Gates & Ellis (the law firm founded by Bill Gates, Sr.; now K&L Gates), prior to which he practiced with Morrison & Foerster and Howard, Rice (now Arnold & Porter) for 14 years. He also has substantial international experience, having practiced law in Korea with Kim & Chang, in Indonesia with SSEK, and in Vietnam with VILAF and Kirin Intl. for a total of 10 years. He also founded (and later sold) the executive training company, Advanced Global Connections.

Mr. Meador has held leadership positions in a number of international organizations. He was elected Chairman of the Legal Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and later President of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce for the North Pacific Coast. He also served as Vice Chair of the US Vietnam Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the International Section of the California Bar Association since 2002 and served as Secretary in 2010.

Mr. Meador is a frequent public speaker and has delivered presentations to the California Bar Association, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Haas School of Business, among others. In his spare time, Mr. Meador serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at California State University Fullerton, where he mentors students and teaches the lean business model.

Mr. Meador's humanitarian work includes opening the wartime office of Friends of Children of Vietnam. He was evacuated from the roof of the American Embassy in Saigon on the last day of the U.S. war there and his story has been the subject of several books, movies, television programs, exhibits, and a stage production. In 1976, he continued his international charity work in Seoul, Korea, as Director of Friends of Children International, and in 1982 he served as Senior Advisor to the International Mission of Hope in Calcutta, India. His organization has been nominated twice for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Mr. Meador attended law school at UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall where he served as Executive Editor of the International Tax & Business Law Journal, Vice President of the International Law Society, and received the SK Yee Scholarship award.
