Carolyn L. Mitchell is a partner in the Houston Office.  Ms. Mitchell is an experienced health care attorney providing health care practitioners and businesses operational, regulatory, and transactional counsel. 

Ms. Mitchell worked for two large health care systems in management prior to and during law school, enabling her to have great insight as to their operations and associated legal issues and requirements.  This insight has enabled her to work closely with an array of health care constituents including but not limited to physicians, physician groups, hospitals, surgery centers, medical management companies, medical supply companies, long term care providers, utilization review providers, free-standing ER’s and mental health providers.  She has a particular interest in providing legal services to those individuals and organizations that provide direct patient care, and has also been a great resource to clients who serve the health care industry in other capacities.

Ms. Mitchell has a unique understanding of the health care industry.  Upon receiving a Master of Health Administration, she completed a Fellowship in Hospital Administration and worked directly with all levels of health care providers and management composing large health care system.  This background combined with her many years of health law practice makes it easy for her to step into new health care organizations and readily identify and work with its leadership to meet their goals and grow their businesses, and she takes great pride in assisting her clients in this manner.  She has a great appreciation for and understanding of those providing direct patient care, as well as those who support them.

Ms. Mitchell has practiced law both in-house and in regional, national, and international law firms.  This variety has exposed her to the wide range of clients that can benefit with someone of her background, and she readily works with such clients to further their goals and objectives.
